Weather

Cloudy, some rain in the afternoon.

I weighed in at 11 13 today so I lost a pound which is good.

I roasted a 3.75kg rib of beef this morning. It was excellent. Paul picked me up at around midday. We had an excellent Christmas lunch. They dropped me off in the evening and went on to Mark & Catherine’s. I went to bed early.

As I said to Keith: I had a nice day. On Christmas Eve, I was relieved of Cauliflower Cheese duties because Zoe and Paul’s neighbour who is an electrician at a nearby Marks & Spencer’s food factory gave them a big M&S one for free. Meanwhile, I had been doing cauliflower cheese practice for a week! Consequently, my only morning job was to roast some beef.

I had a 3.75 Kg two-rib special which only just fitted in my oven (£44 from Jim Oliver’s in Maindee). It was magnificent. It came out of the oven medium-rare just as Paul arrived to pick me up. It rested on the journey to Rhiwderin (as did I). As head of household, I had to carve the turkey and the beef. That duty went well, and without incident. I had two puddings, which was nice. Tiramisu (no added cream) and Bread and Butter Pudding with custard.

Early evening, Paul, Zoe and Emmie dropped me off at home and then went onwards to Mark & Catherine’s. So, I was home early and in bed by 8pm. Slept for nearly six hours, came down for two cups of tea and went back to bed for another four hours. I am feeling reasonably well rested at last.

In other news, my iPad ceased on Christmas Eve morning and resisted all efforts by me to revive it. I was able to order a new iPad online and collect it almost immediately from Argos (at Sainsbury’s Albany Street Superstore, close to Rexville where Lovell’s Athletic used to play).

So, that is a new printer and a new iPad in less than a week.

I did think about sending my old printer off for a warranty repair but the two ink cartridges in the printer are worth more than the printer itself. I shall keep the cartridges and recycle the printer.

Even more news. Santa brought me a match ticket to see Cardiff City v Leicester City at Cardiff City Stadium on Friday. So that is really nice.  .. and coincidentally, Paul and Emmie have got match tickets too! 😃
