I attempted the Dymock Half Marathon. I realised that I probably wouldn't be able to do it. I actually got to 8.8 miles before the tail car caught me up. I jumped in and got a lift back to the cricket club. Reasons: I am carrying a bit of weight, I have had patella tendonitis. So I haven't done enought training. I was cramping in a small muscle just above my left ankle. I could walk but I could not run. Additionally I was wearing my Nike super shoes (the ekidens). Usually I can run OK in those, but not in these circumstances.
I had a mini binge after the race. 2 pints and 2 bacon rolls then two more pints and 2 packets of crisps.
also: I put the wrong destination into my sat nav and was 15 minutes later getting there.
