 I did Claire's pilates class pm I did the lockdown lap in reverse

Sat - 22/04/23

 I combined an LSR and parkrun. To give me 10 miles at 12 mm. From my house I ran up to the Greyhound and down Old Hill. I ran round the Caerleon small village and then followed the paths round Caerleon and down to the River front. I did the riverfront parkrun and then ran home. I stopped at 10 miles, close to the bottom of the park and then walked through tha park and home as a cool down.

Fri - 21/04/23

 I did Pilates in the morning

Thu - 20/04/23

 I did body conditioning in the morning. I did a rehab run, jog walk around the NISV in the afternoon

Wed - 19/04/23

 I did a lockdown lap.. jog / walk

Mon - 17/04/23

 Pilates in the morning, Massage with daniela in the afternoon

Sun - 16/04/23

 I did the Kymin Dash. I cruised it. I was about 20 minutes slower than my times when I raced it. I was a lot younger then of course!

Fri - 14/04/23

 I did Pilates with Chris followed by some leg work on the resistance machines. Later in the day my knee was a bit sore. I decided to rest up until the Kymin Dash on Sunday

Thu - 13/04/23

 In the morning I did body conditioning followed by some leg work on the resistance machines. In the evening I did 2 * (80, 160, 160, 80)  on Traston Road close to Monsanto. I then watched Emmie train with Newport Harriers.

Tue - 11/04/23

 I missed the SLOGs session. I figured that with a dodgy knee it might be too tough for me. I went out on my own later in the day and did a session on the Caerleon Cycle path.

Sun - 09/03/23

 I did a Caerleon Cycle Path Session. with 3 * 700 + 3 * 300 programmed on to my Garmin. So, i did 1K warm up then 700 out, walk to 900, 700 back, walk to path start. 700 out, then 3 * 300 with walking recoveries. I also went out for a meal with Zoe, Paul and Emmie. We went to Pasture Cardiff and shared a 950 gm Chateaubriand.

Sat - 08/03/23

Sat 08 April 2023 I did an out and back along the Caerleon Cycle Path. I set up my 3 * 700 + x * 300 workout but really this was another rehab run.

Fri - 07/04/23

I did Pilates. Chris was subbing for Claire who was on holiday. I struggled with Chris' exercises and stretches. 

Thu - 06/04/23

 Settling back in after my trip. I did Body conditioning with Cara. in the afternoon I did one lap of Beechwood Park as an easy recovery run. I met Bethan Jackson and Sam McCrory and had chats to them both. Beth had damaged her ACL. Not a good injury for a PE Teacher to have. Sam also has a knee problem which gave her dog walking difficulties. I volunteered to help if she needed it. Ian does not like dog poo!

Torun Trip - Wed 22 March - Wed 05 April

  Blog - The Torun Trip – March & April 2023 Trip summary This trip definitely had some highs and lows. I went into the trip in a rather poor state of fitness. I travelled from LHR (T5) and met up with Keith for a meal at the Cast Iron Grill restaurant at the Sheraton. I had too much alcohol! The outbound journey went pretty well. I travelled to Warsaw and onwards to Bydgoszcz. I then used public transport to get to ToruĊ„. There is a direct flight from Bristol to Bydgoszcz. Only a couple of flights per week but maybe that would provide a better journey route. My Airbnb apartment was very good. A bit expensive maybe, but I would like to use it again next year if I get the opportunity. The 8K cross country was tough and I acquired patella tendonitis which was a big downer. Travelling back, the Courtyard by Marriott hotel at Warsaw Chopin Airport was nice. It was good to meet up with my chums.
